Whatever you do, DONT GO TO LOVE CIRCLE AFTER DARK!

Me, several friends, and many others have been getting ridiculous misdemeanors for just visiting the property. Though there are NO signs, it is criminal trespassing. And police are enforcing a no-tolerance policy.

I know the view is amazing, but DONT chance it!

Yup, a reservior. Big one. 2 mil. gallons. There is actually a very small and hard to find sign on the hill talking about the park. I used to run up there every day when I lived in the neighborhood. Recently, a large-type a-hole country music star (one John Rich) built a HUGE, UGLY, COFFEEMAKER-LOOKING, 74 FT. TALL house up there because he wanted to monopolize the view of downtown Nashville. Oh well...

A two-million gallon water tank is buried beneath Love Circle. See below...

************************************************************

Towering 744 feet above sea level, this hill was known as Bald Hill in the early days of settlement. During the Battle of Nashville, in December 1864, Union defense lines ran across Harding Pike near here, and earthworks may be seen nearby. Hillside lots were subdivided for residences in 1910. This site was the highest point in the old city of Nashville, and in 1926 the City acquired 8.33 acres, mainly from John W. Love and built the Love Circle Reservoir. This two-million gallon water supply sits beneath the hill. The surrounding park was originally named for Martin R. Wetterau (1858-1939) the first custodian of the reservoir and grounds.
